An Audiologist with the CCC-A and FFF-A Credentials

An Audiologist is an individual highly trained to diagnosis and treat hearing disorders, including the dispensing of hearing aids. There are many dispensers of hearing aids who are not Audiologists but are simply selling hearing aids.

An Audiologist has at least a Masters Degree or Equivalent, in addition to having completed a fellowship under supervision and has passed the board exam to achieve certification. The designation CCC-A and or FFF-A are an assurance that the professional is a member in good standing of the American Speech and Hearing Association, and/or the American Academy of Audiology. Contrary to popular assumption, it does not cost more to receive a hearing aid fitting and follow-up from a Certified Clinical Audiologist. Always check credentials.
